General Installation Notes

Any adhesives, sealants, ﬁllers or paint used must be compatible with the material that is being installed (see manufacturer’s recommendations in the

Finishing and Adhesives section below). Always use corrosion-resistant mechanical nails or screws along with manufacturer’s recommended adhesive

product when installing all Fypon products. This combination provides a secure, long-lasting bond. Countersink all fasteners about

” and ﬁll with

product compatible ﬁller. Exterior installations should be ﬁnished using a manufacturer’s recommended caulk to prevent water inﬁltration behind

siding, windows and doors. Some exterior installations, in particular new construction before siding is applied, may require a J-channel and/or

ﬂashing to prevent water inﬁltration. Installers must determine which installation technique is best for the speciﬁc situation.

Finishing and Adhesives

Polyurethane (PUR) – Fypon polyurethane products are factory primed. Depending on product location, always use interior/exterior-grade, PUR

compatible adhesives, sealants, and ﬁllers when installing Fypon products. Consult the manufacturer’s recommendations for your particular

climate and the substrate you are installing to.

Cellular PVC – Depending on product location, always use interior/exterior-grade, PVC compatible adhesives, sealants, and ﬁllers when installing

Fypon products. Consult the manufacturer’s recommendations for your particular climate and the substrate you are installing to. If painting is

desired, a 100% acrylic latex paint with a Light Reﬂectance Value (LRV) of 55% or higher must be used. Applying paint with an LRV of 54% or

lower will void the warranty.

IMPORTANT:

Please read these installation guidelines thoroughly before beginning installation. Please note that these guidelines are provided only to assist with the installation of Fypon moulding

and millwork products. Modiﬁed procedures may be required in order to meet speciﬁc situations, unique applications and local building codes. The manufacturer does not, under any

circumstances, warrant the installation of its products. Be sure to wear appropriate protective clothing, gloves and safety glasses when working with any tools. Installer should check

for and relocate all electrical wiring within the proposed installation area, as needed (be sure to disconnect all electric power before working with any electrical wiring and follow all

applicable local electrical codes and safety procedures).

E-Vent

System

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

You may wish to paint your E-Vent™ system prior to installation. This can speed up installation and reduce errors.

Materials needed:

• Safety glasses

• Tape measure

• Hammer or Pneumatic Nailer

• Nail Countersink

• Corrosion-Resistant Fasteners

• Caulk Gun

• Polyurethane Compatible Adhesive

1. Draw a Layout of the Roof-line

Begin by drawing a simple layout of the roof-line. Determine the location and quantities of the parts you need.

2. Apply Adhesive and Set Corner Into Place

Starting with one of the corners, apply a bead of adhesive to the back side and mitered joint of the corner and set it into place. Snug it into

place. The corner is shipped in two pieces and requires assembly before installation.

3. Fasten Corner Pieces

Fasten the corner piece with nails or screws. Continue with all other inside and outside corners of the roof.

4. Determine Moulding Lengths

Using your roof-line layout drawing as a guide, measure the length of the ﬁrst trim piece you need. To ensure a snug ﬁt on longer lengths, add

¼" every ten feet. Transfer your measurement ((¼” every ten feet and cut the ﬁrst piece to length. Check the ﬁt by laying the piece in place.

5. Apply Adhesive and Set Moulding Into Place

Apply a bead of adhesive to the surfaces that the E-Vent will touch. Lay the ﬁrst piece into place. Note: Because you cut them slightly long,

some pieces will spring into place, and will be slightly bowed. This is normal. The piece will ﬂatten as it is screwed into the wall.

6. Fasten The Moulding

Starting with the ends ﬁrst, attach the E-Vent with fasteners. Work toward the middle, driving nails or screws every 16". Again, the extra ¼”

every ten feet will ﬂatten as you move toward the center. Continue to install the E-Vent system, until the entire system is done.

7. Patch Holes & Touch Up or Paint
